Blogs Blogs Blogs

Blogging is so awesome! I love getting to decorate and customize my own page. There is no doubt that I could easily spend hours playing around with my blog. It is very addicting.

A couple things I want to mention. First, I am fairly new at this process so I feel a bit overwhelmed at times. Second, I hope to be an excellent blogger at some point in my life, this however will take some time to achieve. I like that this blog is a test run. It will help me gather ideas for my own blog I want to start someday as well as teach me the ropes in the blogging world. After I start my career I do indeed plan on having my own blog. One personal and maybe one professional. The biggest need I see for having a blog is the opportunity to follow other educators. It will be very useful communicating with other professionals for tips, information and ideas. I look forward to when that time comes!

I thing that stuck out most to me today was when we had a class discussion on blogs and it's uses. I was amazed at the list we came up with:

Blogs:
Can be used as a class website
You can blog about your first year of teaching (refer back to and can be a source for other new teachers
Act as a tool for community building within the classroom
Communicate with other educators
A way to receive feedback or answer some questions you may have
An outlet for personal activism
Help organize and make easier staff meetings

This list just shows how important blogging would be for an educator. Hopefully, by the end of next week my blog will be looking good and I will feel confident having a blog.
