My Webpage

I think one of my favorite things we have done in class so far was creating our webpages. Even though this is a mock trial it certainly gave me a lot of useful information to use when I go to make my actual one as a teacher. I think having your own webpage is great! You can communicate with your students, parents and other educators through your webpage. It is also a great place to store information or be a resource. In my website I created my home page. It linked to my blog, had a calendar and a little information about myself. I also created a couple more pages. One called "homework," this page would be a place for students or even parents to go to see assignments or upcoming due dates. I also created a page called "ocean project." My idea for this page was to take something we will be working on in class throughout the year. On the page will be information on the time line, what we have been doing, what they are learning, activities they do, and much more. This would be great to have so that parents and other community members can see what the children are doing in the classroom and what they are learning.

I think that down the road, I may even have a couple different webpages. One specifically for my class, so that the students and their parents can use, and the other more personal/professional so that other educators can use. I just really like this idea! Lastly, I want to mention that even after learning how to use different cool tools in site.google.com it amazes me that there are still so many more I have not come across yet.
