Yesterday we learned how to use iMovie. Since I am interested in teaching younger elementary I was trying to think of ways I could incorporate this tool into my classroom. The best idea I came up with was to make my own videos to present important information to my students. I can make a creative video that the students will like and be excited to watch. I want learning to be fun! Another option would be to have my class make a video. For example if we are doing a unit on middle ages they could do a skit or play and we could record it on a video so they can always have it to watch.
In older grades students will be more capable of making their own videos. They can be used to do a project, a reflection on something, or even an announcement. I think this is very handy! Showing tools like this too students gives them the opportunity to be exposed to different things and find what they like and don't like. What is great, is video making and producing is something that could be a career choice in the real world. It is good knowing that students are doing something that they can use outside the classroom...
I am glad I used this program and got a view of how it works. I am sure I will use it as a teacher! :-)
