Let me start of my saying there is a lot of confusion whether or not the K-8 cohort will be using e-portfolio. However, either way I have realized it would be important to create one just in case. It would be smart to have both a paper or electronic version when I go to interview for jobs. Now a days i think it is hard to tell which type of portfolio an employer would prefer more. I hear arguments for both sides, so I don't really know what to expect.
Working on my e-portfolio has been a good experience. It is a lot different than other programs we have been using. At times it is a little bit confusing and I need some help, but I always have been able to figure it out. I like the fact its your personal page. It contains things that are specifically geared towards education and teaching.
Mahara is unique! I plan to continue building my e-portfolio as well as creating a paper version. It may be a lot of work, but in the end it will be worthwhile.
